Abstract
Although the Aristotelian text, particularly in VI NE, is not supportive, A way of interpreting the Aristotelian concept of phronesis in philosophical hermeneutics, especially in Gadamer’s philosophy, leads to describing a relationship between phronesis and aesthetics. While some parts of Aristotle’s corpus, including his theory of beauty, are lost, some evidence in his ethical texts probably explains the place of beauty in Aristotelian ethics. Analyzing Aristotelian original texts and their terminology refuses any probable evidence for engaging the Aristotelian concept of phronesis with aesthetics. However, the silence of the Aristotelian corpus about beauty and its connection to ethics allows us to consider the hermeneutical interpretation of phronesis as an authentic interpretation In the context of Aristotle.

تفسیرهایی که در هرمنوتیک قرن بیستم از مفهوم فرونسیس ارسطویی، به خصوص در آثار گادامر، انجام شده است نشان دهندۀ ارتباطی معنادار میان این مفهوم و زیباشناسی است. درحالی که مراجعه به عبارت‌های ارسطو در اخلاق نیکوماخی شواهد روشنی برای پشتیبانی از این تفسیرها به دست نمی‌دهد. اینک بخشی از آثار ارسطو که دربردارندۀ نظریات وی درباب زیبایی و هنر بوده از دست رفته است و از آن جز اندکی در دست ما نیست، اما در اخلاق ارسطویی نشانه‌هایی وجود دارد که شاید بتوان با تکیه بر آن‌ها جایگاهی برای زیبایی در اخلاق ارسطو یافت. اگر این نشانه‌ها برای آشکار کردن ارتباطی زنده و مؤثر میان نظریۀ اخلاقی ارسطو و زیبایی قدرت کافی را داشته باشد، می‌توان گفت تفسیرهای هرمنوتیکی، به طور مشخص تفسیر گادامر، به شکلی روشن در سیاق عبارت‌های ارسطو جای می‌گیرد. بررسی شواهد متنی حاکی از آن است که این تفسیرها در نگاه اول از سیاق عبارت‌های ارسطو برنمی‌آید، اما در جهت خلاف چارچوب ارسطویی نیز قرار ندارد و نمی‌توان آن‌ها را منافی سنت متنی ارسطو قلمداد کرد. در حقیقت متون اخلاقی ارسطو در خصوص زیبایی منفعل و ساکت است و اثر مستقل او درباب زیبایی نیز در دست نیست. این تفسیرها با بهره‌گیری از خلائی که در متون ارسطو وجود دارد و تأکید کردن بر جنبه‌هایی در عبارت‌های ارسطو که در تفسیرهای پیشین خاموش مانده است راه خود را گشوده‌اند.
