Abstract
As one of the modern and advanced technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT) plays a vital role in improving quality of life and facilitating various processes across diverse sectors such as healthcare, transportation, and industry. Nevertheless, the widespread adoption of this technology is accompanied by significant security and ethical challenges and vulnerabilities that require particular attention. The present study aims to elucidate the ethical and security challenges within the IoT ecosystem and to propose effective measures for enhancing security conditions and ensuring compliance with ethical principles in this field. This research is theoretical in nature and employs a descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate that the principal security issues in the Internet of Things include cyber attacks, weaknesses in security protocols, and the misuse of users’ sensitive data. Ethical concerns are likewise primarily centered on the unauthorized collection and use of personal data and the violation of privacy. The results of this study further demonstrate that the development of ethical artificial intelligence in such systems, regular updating of devices, user education and awareness-raising, transparency in artificial intelligence algorithms, prevention of algorithmic discrimination, long-term device support are among the most effective strategies for strengthening security and ethics in the Internet of Things.
